New Delhi: US Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti, once again showcased his Bollywood dance moves during the Diwali celebrations at the US embassy in Delhi. This time, he danced to the lively tune of “Tauba Tauba” from the film Bad Newz, starring Vicky Kaushal.
In a video shared by ANI on X, Garcetti, dressed in a brown kurta and sunglasses, delighted attendees with his energetic performance.

Viewers were quick to praise his moves, with comments like “Wow, his dance skills are amazing!” and “Too good.”
This isn’t Garcetti’s first dance at a Diwali celebration. Last year, he also garnered attention while dancing to the iconic song “Chaiyya Chaiyya,” which featured Shah Rukh Khan and Malaika Arora.
In response to Garcetti’s participation in the festivities, Satnam Singh Sandhu expressed, “I applaud the jovial spirit of US Ambassador to India, Mr. @ericgarcetti, for showing delightful interest in Diwali celebrations. Let there be light and happiness in the relationship of the US and India like this forever!”
Since taking office last year, Garcetti has embraced Indian culture, participating in various festivals and traditions.
Joe Biden Hosts Diwali Event at the White House
In related celebrations, US President Joe Biden hosted a Diwali event at the White House, attended by over 600 distinguished Indian Americans, including members of Congress and business leaders. The event also featured Indian-origin astronaut Sunita Williams, who is currently aboard the International Space Station.
Garcetti described the embassy’s Diwali celebration as “beautiful,” emphasizing the significance of the occasion. He remarked, “As we celebrate the journey of light, we also honor the invaluable contributions of Indian Americans who deepen the US-India bond. From New Delhi to DC, may the light of Diwali illuminate every corner of the world and spread the message of peace and prosperity.”
Despite being unable to attend due to campaign commitments, Vice President Kamala Harris, of Indian descent, and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden were both acknowledged during the celebrations.
