Changan Pakistan has officially introduced its compact electric vehicle, the Lumin Mini EV, during the PAPS 2024 event, organized by PAAPAM. Previously, we announced the vehicle’s debut, but specific details were still under wraps. Today, however, the company has released a brochure detailing the Lumin Mini EV’s specifications and features. Here’s an overview.
The Lumin Mini EV will be available in two versions: Lumin L and Lumin L DC.
Changan Lumin Mini EV – Specifications & Features
Exterior
The vehicle measures 3720mm in length, 1700mm in width, and 1590mm in height, with a 1980mm wheelbase and a ground clearance of 150mm. Equipped with 14-inch street wheels (165/70R14) and a seating capacity for four passengers, the Lumin Mini EV is designed for practical urban use.
Other prominent exterior features include halogen projector headlamps with adjustability and follow-me-home functionality, Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), LED turn signals, a light-on system activated via remote for easy location, hidden exterior door handles, electric windows, and side mirrors with integrated turn signals.
The available exterior color options are Wheat Yellow, Sakura Pink, Mass Green, Mist White, and Magpie Gray.
Interior
Inside, the Changan Lumin Mini EV offers two color schemes: light grey-orange and grey-black. The seats are upholstered in fabric, with the front passenger seat featuring a folding and sliding lever. Additional interior amenities include a rearview mirror with built-in light, a multifunctional electronic power steering wheel, a 12V power outlet, USB ports in both the front and rear, and an air conditioning system.
The EV also includes a 7-inch LCD driving display, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, keyless entry, Apple CarPlay, push start, and a smart key for added convenience.
Safety
Safety features in the Lumin Mini EV comprise dual front airbags, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), an automatic door lock that unlocks in case of collision, an electronic stability program, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Automatic Emergency Brakes (AEB), Hill-start Assist (HHC), a rearview camera, and two parking sensors.
Performance
The vehicle is powered by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) with front-wheel drive, delivering 47 horsepower and 83 Nm of torque, and reaching a top speed of 101 km/h.
The Lumin L is equipped with a 27.98 kW battery, while the Lumin L DC variant has a slightly larger 28.08 kW Lithium Iron Phosphate battery, with both variants offering a driving range of up to 301 km on a full charge.
Charging Information
Charging times vary by variant: the base model takes 10.5 hours for AC charging (0-100%), while the top variant takes 10 hours. The Lumin L DC variant also supports DC fast charging, with a 30-100% recharge in just 35 minutes. DC charging is unavailable for the base model.
Both versions come with regenerative braking and Eco + Sports drive modes for optimized performance.
