Moscow, Oct 23 – Senior Hamas official Mousa Abu Marzouk arrived in Moscow for a planned visit, according to Russia’s state-run news agency RIA Novosti. Citing a diplomatic source, the report stated that Abu Marzouk, a member of the Hamas politburo, is expected to engage in several meetings with Russian officials.
While details of these meetings have not been disclosed, Russia maintains relationships with key Middle Eastern players, including Israel, Iran, Lebanon, the Palestinian Authority, and Hamas.
Moscow has repeatedly attributed the ongoing Middle Eastern crisis to the failure of U.S. diplomatic efforts. The Russian government has called for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and urged a return to peace talks aimed at resolving the conflict.
