Lebanon’s telecommunications sector has incurred an estimated $67 million in losses due to the ongoing Israeli attacks, according to Telecommunications Minister Johnny Corm, as reported by the National News Agency (NNA).
Corm stated that the Ministry of Communications has compiled a detailed report outlining the damage sustained by the Ogero Authority, as well as the country’s two main mobile providers, Alfa and Touch.
The purpose of the report, he noted, is to aid relief agencies by ensuring they have the necessary resources to respond to the crisis. Additionally, the ministry aims to secure reliable internet access to support distance learning for students, in order to prevent disruptions to the academic year despite the challenges posed by the conflict.
