Islamabad: As part of the ongoing Space Week celebrations, the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) has launched over 4,000 postcards created by schoolchildren into space through the NS-27 New Shepard mission, as part of the “Postcards to Space” initiative.
The event was organized in collaboration with the World Space Week Association (WSWA) and Blue Origin. Thousands of excited children from across Pakistan participated in this unique activity, designing and submitting postcards that were sent on an extraordinary journey aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket.
According to officials, once the postcards return to Earth, they will bear a special “Flown to Space” stamp. They also highlighted that Suparco has been a leading national coordinator in the global rankings of WSWA, organizing numerous activities across Pakistan during the UN-declared World Space Week since 2005.
Officials added that WSWA invited Suparco to partner for this inspiring project as a gesture of appreciation and motivation for the thousands of children involved. The postcards served as a creative platform for participants to express their space dreams through drawings, colors, or writings inspired by space exploration.
